Welcome to the online "Developmental Workbook"

First thing I want you to do is to learn a bit about "blogger". Go to http://www.blogger.com/ and click “Take a tour”, the tour is quick.

After the tour I want you to create a blog, this will now be your own online DW. Choose an adress for your blog that tells whose DW it is, for example my adress is "mathias-dw.blogspot.com". After this I want you to try out the blog by posting a blog entry, just write something about how hard or easy you thought it was to create a blog. Also add a picture, a sound clip and a video clip. Good luck!

Adding picture & sound

I want you add pictures and sound clips to your DW, this is the most important reason why I decided that you are going to do the DW digital instead of a paper book. Since you are able to add sound you will see your progress both individually and as a group, in music in a whole other way than with just writing.

Adding a picture is really easy. When you are writing a new blog post, just click the "Add Image"-button above the area where you write the text and upload the picture. Here you can see the band I'm playing in, we are called "Soul Attic".

Here is how to add an audio file to your blog entry: Start with opening an account at www.soundcloud.com Upload an audio-file. Then click "Share" on the sound clip that you want to add to your blog-entry. Copy (Ctrl+C) the embed code at the top. Now go to your blog and the blog-entry you are creating, after writing your text, switch over from "Compose" to "Edit html". Paste (Ctrl+V) the code you copied, into the the same area as the text and when you publish the post the player and your music will appear right below your text.
Start the player and listen to some music played by the band in the picture.

Adding video clip

A very good idea is to add a video clip to your blog entry. Some of you may be able to do video recordings, either with video camera or using a mobile phone. This is also a fun and good way to listen to and see what you are working with.

Adding a video clip is as easy as adding a picture, just click the "Add Video"-button above the text area and upload your video. Here you can see me performing on TV4 with a British singer, a couple of years ago. Do I look older now?
